The Tales of An Internet Ghost.

Well hot damn, It’s been a while since I’ve been here. I’m sorry y’all but I have been crazy busy and well let’s just say I have questionable retention of memories. It’s honestly super bizarre. My brain does this stuff where it can either remember distant things very vividly or none at all. Guess that happens when you’re an all or nothing type of gal, or maybe because I have the attention span of a squirrel. I may never find out.

Anyway, before I went on a tangent, I actually meant to tell you all that I am finally a published freaking author! *self fangirl pterodactyl screeching* I was finally given a chance to publish the short story that took nearly 4 months to write (it felt like 6 though).

Remember this?

Well, I’m happy to announce that this short but meaningful story has finally been turned into this.

Honestly, I could never in my wildest dreams imagine that I get to hold an incredible book with equally amazing author in my hand and know that my name is among the list of other who probably have far more experience than me. I am truly humbled and above all excited to continue this journey.

Of course, short stories are not going to be the only things I write. I plan to hopefully come out with a novel of my own. There’s just too many stories within me waiting to be told and I can’t simply mute the muse. Writing a solo novel is a dream that has now become a new stepping stone of a goal that I hadn’t thought would be possible.

Now, of course there are plenty of wonderful people who deserve my thanks. Among them is Sera Taino who spurred me toward writing to begin with and who trusted me enough to cover her spot in this anthology. I could never repay the kindness and faith that she has charitably bestowed upon me. To Layali Grimshaw and my editor Katie who have both been amazing cheerleaders and friends. They’re immense patience when it came to helping me hash out ideas and smooth out my many many mistakes had given me a lot of confidence, as well as knowing when to be kind to myself on my bad days.

Finally to the love of my life, my husband. He has been beyond supportive despite all my late nights, my lack of energy, and all the times I was less than pleasant because I was annoyed with myself. He was one of the first people to buy the book. As a matter of fact, he surprised me with it when I woke up from a nap. There weren’t many times where I had seen witnessed someone be proud of ME but when I looked into his eyes all I saw was raw joy. It made me tear up, and I was equally proud of myself. What can I say, it’s hard for a writer out there but fear not, for I will definitely be writing more!

Anyway, I wanted to let you all know I’ll be taking a short break and then I’ll start writing my first novel that will be taking place in my native Peru. For now, be on the lookout for another short, Yuletide & Hijinks. This particular story takes place during Christmas Eve. The character is written in first person and it’s a roller coaster of shenanigans and feels. Get ready to feel like you’re in a sitcom!

I guess that’s all I can really say about the things I’ve been up to lately. I will try my darnest to keep writing in this blog. Hell, I’ll even write a reminder on my phone to keep myself responsible. Anyway, thank you all for taking the time to read this crazy lady’s post. Hope you all keep reading!
